Sex and the City: Dangerous Curves Style | May 7, 2010

Ok, which Sex and the City girl are you? (I like to think of myself as a combination of Carrie and Charlotte.) Whether you’re sweet and sexy Carrie, power woman Miranda, wholesome Charlotte, or sex vixen Samantha, here are some ways to dress as your favorite SATC girl…

Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie is just plain adorable and high fashion. A studded belt with a girly dress crosses the sexy with sweetness, and belting is always your friend. For the dress, try something metallic and feminine. Recall her look in the first SATC movie, dresses and jackets cinched at the waist.

Carrie also has a fabulous eye for detail. A simple dress can go a long way if you know how to style it up right. Who can forget her signature ‘Carrie’ necklace? Maybe don’t go that far, but go for personal details to accentuate your outfit. Athens is a treasure trove of unique accessories so you shouldn’t have trouble finding something.

Charlotte Yorke

Oh, Char. So wholesome and proper. However, don’t think her style is super mommy or super wholesome. If you’re a Charlotte, cardigans are your best fashion friend. For the youthful and casual look, try the boyfriend cardigan and a dress.

Dresses, dresses, dresses. This is the perfect time to embrace the Charlotte look. The weather is beautiful and there’s no better feeling than Charlotte is all about dressing like a girl… well, except for the one time. Anyways, go girly and slightly 50s with this look. If that scares you, think Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer. Who doesn’t want to look that cute and adorable all the time?

Miranda Hobbes

Miranda girls are simple and powerful, but also like to be comfortable. Sturdy pieces that will transition with you, like the very trendy boyfriend jacket, are a top Miranda pick. Just make sure the cut is right so you don’t look like you’re wearing your dad’s suit coat.

V-necks. They’re powerful, sexy, and a flattering cut on almost everyone. If you’ve got it, show it off. Don’t go too low (leave that to the Samanthas), but just enough that when standing tall and strong you show off your feminine features.

Samantha Jones

Powerful, sexy, wild, and never afraid to cross the line. Sam is who she is and isn’t afraid to be herself. On the streets of NYC or in the club it’s okay to be scandalous, but for the streets of Athens you’ll need to tone it down. The main thing to remember is just be you and flaunt it proudly.

Samantha is a big fan of bright colors, loud pieces, and sparkle. Keep it smart and sexy, make an entrance and keep it you.

I think the great thing about these looks is that they are translatable for all body types. Short, tall, curvy, or skinny, these women brought us style for all.

Ladies, it’s time to bring some Sex to this city.
